- The group sets up its 14 plants and 3 warehouses. One leased warehouse is left out of the report, with the reason recorded.
- Diesel and furnace-oil purchases are entered with their invoices attached. A plant clerk sends the monthly electricity reading and a photo of the bill from a phone.
- Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions are calculated from those entries, with the emission factors that apply to FY2025-26.
- In February, two plants show as missing water data. The sustainability lead follows up with those two only.
- A reviewer approves the entries, and the reported Scope 1 figure can be followed down to each plant’s invoices.
Process industries: chemicals and pharma
Chemicals and pharma sites carry three extra loads:
- Process and fugitive emissions do not appear on a fuel bill, so they are easy to miss or to count twice.
- Hazardous waste is tracked on manifests at each site, in different categories and units.
- Water use is high, and EU buyers ask for product footprints on their own timelines.

No. Plant data comes in through direct entry, spreadsheet upload and phone links. Meter logs can be attached as evidence.
Does Sustano monitor environmental permits or consent conditions?
No. Sustano covers BRSR, BRSR Core and ESG reporting data, not permit or consent tracking.
