CEA grid emission factor
The emission factor for electricity from India's grid, published by the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) in its CO₂ Baseline Database. Used for location-based Scope 2.
India’s Central Electricity Authority (CEA) publishes the CO₂ Baseline Database for the Indian Power Sector. Indian companies commonly use its grid emission factor, expressed in tonnes of CO₂ per megawatt-hour, to calculate location-based Scope 2 emissions from grid electricity.
The database is issued in numbered versions. Each version relates to particular years of generation data, so the version you use should match the reporting period, and it should be recorded next to the figure so a reviewer can see which edition was applied.
Check the version and the value against the CEA publication itself before you report.
